Hound Chronicles

The Great Trazodone Vacation

After surviving two straight nights of fireworks, explosions, bottle rockets, and enough booms to convince three hounds that the neighborhood had entered a war zone...

The boys were placed on a doctor-approved two-day Trazodone vacation.

Mission status?

Absolutely nothing.

Winchester has spent the last 48 hours staring at the ceiling like he's solving the mysteries of the universe.

Dean, the neighborhood's most wanted escape artist, looked at the fence... yawned... and decided prison wasn't so bad after all.

Roscoe tried to bark at the mailman...

Forgot why...

Then went back to sleep halfway through his complaint.

For the first time in history:

No deer were chased.

No foxes were investigated.

No fences were inspected.

No emergency neighborhood alerts were issued.

The wildlife has officially been granted a 48-hour ceasefire.

I'm pretty sure the neighborhood fox actually walked through the backyard this morning just to make sure the boys were okay.

Current Status:

Winchester: Dreaming about chasing deer.

Dean: Too sleepy to plan a prison break.

Roscoe: Snoring so loud the fireworks are filing a noise complaint.

I'm not saying Trazodone worked...

But the squirrels have started holding neighborhood meetings again.

The hounds postponed all criminal activity until after the holiday. πŸΎπŸ˜‚
