Everyone gets excited when the decorations come out.

Apparently...

Winchester does too.

As soon as Michael was back at his usual station, Winchester had to go inspect the newest member of perimeter security.

He walked right up.

Sniffed him.

Looked him over.

Then stared up at him like:

“My man. Haven’t seen you since last year.”

No fear.

No hesitation.

Just two seasoned neighborhood patrol professionals catching up after a long offseason.

And honestly, these two have a lot in common.

Neither says much.

Both enjoy roaming neighborhoods after dark.

Both have a habit of appearing where you don't necessarily expect them.

And neither seems particularly concerned with other people's thoughts on personal boundaries.

The biggest difference?

Michael actually stays where we put him.

Winchester could learn something from this man.

At one point Winchester just sat there staring up at him, and I swear there was a conversation happening.

🐕 Winchester: "Long year?"

🔪 Michael: ...

🐕 Winchester: "Yeah. Me too. Dad fixed the fence again."

🔪 Michael: ...

🐕 Winchester: "Don't worry. I've got options."

Meanwhile, I'm starting to think installing Michael next to the Neighborhood Watch sign may have been the most effective security upgrade I've made yet.

Dean hasn't filed an official opinion, although I'm fairly certain he wants to know if Michael has ever tracked deer.

Roscoe will undoubtedly challenge him for command authority before Halloween.

And Winchester?

Winchester appears to have found himself a new walking buddy.

So if you pass the house and notice Michael standing guard again...

Don't worry.

He's not alone.

The Bad Hound Gang has welcomed its seasonal employee back to work.
