Dean Has Surrendered

🚨 MISSION UPDATE: DEAN HAS SURRENDERED 🚨

After spending the entire night conducting unauthorized deer investigations...

Dean finally accepted that maybe...

Just maybe...

He had made a poor career decision.

Early this morning, a wonderful family out for their morning stroll found him wandering around looking like he'd just completed the Appalachian Trail.

They contacted me, and I headed out to recover the fugitive.

When I pulled up, Dean looked at me...

Then looked at the truck...

Then looked back at me.

There was no excitement.

No celebration.

No "Dad! I missed you!"

Just the expression of a hound who had finally realized...

"Freedom isn't all it's cracked up to be."

He climbed into the truck without a word.

No convincing.

No resistance.

No pretending he had one more deer to chase.

Just a slow, tired hop into the back seat and a look that said,

"Let's never speak of this again."

Evidence collected at the scene:

Mud from places I don't even recognize.

Burrs from every plant known to Virginia.

Deer: Still undefeated.

Fox: Filed another victory report.

Dean's Official Statement:

"I have completed my patrol of central Virginia. I would now like breakfast... and a nap."

A huge thank you to the kind family who stopped, recognized he belonged somewhere, and called me.

As for Dean...

He's home.

Fed.

Asleep.

And currently pretending this was all part of the plan.

Mission Status:

🐕 Winchester – Home before curfew.

🐕 Roscoe – Quit after 50 yards and accepted an early retirement.

🐕 Dean – Successfully explored BFE... and discovered home has air conditioning.
