📼 THE HOUND CHRONICLES

Episode 2: Dean

Now Playing on Side B…

🎵 Track 2: “Don’t You (Forget About Me)… Because I’ll Probably Forget Where I Live”

Then there is Dean.

Dean is our southern deer hound.

And where Winchester may leave the property to investigate something…

Dean leaves the property like he has accepted a job offer somewhere else. 😂

Fox scent?

Gone.

Deer scent?

Gone.

Interesting smell headed through the neighborhood, across a creek and toward a cornfield?

Dean:

“I should probably see where this goes.”

And this fool COMMITS.

A normal dog may realize after twenty minutes that home had food, water, air conditioning and people actively searching for him.

Dean can be gone 24 hours and still look like the thought never occurred to him.

Somewhere around BFE he will eventually find a stranger, accept a snack, make himself comfortable and wait for somebody to contact us.

Then I show up.

Dean gets in the vehicle looking like HE is the innocent victim of a terrible misunderstanding.

No apology.

No explanation.

Just:

“Oh hey Dad.”

😂

Dean doesn't run away.

Dean goes on assignment.

And apparently home isn't where the heart is.

It's just the place everyone keeps bringing him back to.

CASE DISPOSITION

Subject eventually returns to family custody. Probability of future BFE operations remains extremely high.
